How to make a scallop box

March 11, 2010

This is a wonderful site I came across, they have a bunch of templates for all different small size diy gift containers. After you click on templates link above, scroll down the page to see all the different designs listed.

CLICK HERE FOR THE PRINTABLE TEMPLATE.

Note: Please make sure your printing margins are set to .5 inches (half an inch) or the template will not print completely. In your browser’s Menu bar,  select File > Page Setup, and change the margin settings to .5. (The selections may be slightly different between browsers.)

This template makes a box top and bottom that fit together with overlapping scallops. The finished box measures 3.5 x 3.5 and about 2.25 inches high. Remember, though, that you can alter the template to suit your needs!

  1. Print the template and trace onto two pieces of complementary or contrasting colors of card stock.
  2. Decorate if desired.
  3. Score and fold on all dotted lines.
  4. Assemble the box, making sure each scallop is on the outside.

This box is perfect for holding treasures of all kinds!
