Birthday Cake!!!

April 26, 2010

My moms birthday was this week and so we celebrated yesterday in honor of her!! She is such a wonderful person and I’m sooo blessed to call her my mom!!!

I asked her what type of cake she wanted for her birthday and she mentioned a strawberry filled angle food cake. This is a refreshing cake and brings back so many memories of picnics and holiday get togethers! It is sooo simple yet delish!! My son snapped a few photos for me of the cake and ice cream.

ENJOY!!!!

Items needed:

1 Large angel food cake (if you live local, Churchill’s has a really good store bought)

1 container of strawberries

1 glaze

1 Lg container of cool whip

Cut up strawberries and mix with the glaze, set aside.

With a long serrated edge knife, slice angle food cake in three slices. Fill each layer with strawberry mixture.

Frost with cool-whip  ENJOY!!

Wow that looks great! I’m not a huge angel food cake fan, but I think with the filling it would taste wonderful. I’ve been dreaming of a strawberry or raspberry filled cake for a couple years – I should get on that!

Hi Sarah, I never use to be a big fan either …. now I love it because of this recipe and the really GOOD angle food cake our store has.
