Martha inspired: Pinecone picture frame ornament

December 16, 2010

I was looking at Martha’s site and was inspired by her adorable pinecone frame ornaments. I decided to frame a picture of my dad and son from several years ago. I was thinking it would be a nice way to bring remembrance of my dad this Christmas since he is no longer here with us. I added a time to remember banner.

Click  here for the link to Martha Stewart’s  pinecone frame ornament tutorial.

Here is my process:  First I made sure I had a pinecone that I didn’t mind cutting up. …then I picked out a picture.

Next, I trimmed off some of the pinecone scales.

Then I hot glued the scales all the way around the back edge off the picture.

Be sure to click on the Martha link above, she has several different examples of really cute frame ideas using pinecone scales.

Now it’s time to hang the ornament on the tree 🙂

That’s super cute! I always like looking through her inspiration files for DIY ornaments! I didn’t notice this one, or maybe it just looked too hard!
