How to Video: Kids room decor + Decoupaging a wall by Kristan Cunningham

January 13, 2011

Love Kristan Cunningham and her decorating style!  Her videos are full of fun decorating tips. In these video’s she shares advice on how to design a room that grows with your child. That way, in the long run, you aren’t spending money on a complete room re-do every few years!  She also shares a really fun wall decoupage project that will work for any room of the home.  I’m thinking if I decoupage my stinky vintage maps on the wall, it might seal out the musty smell …hmmm It’s hard because I like the matte finish of the maps…. I’ll work out my musty map issues later :)….Enjoy!

Rene, I believe mod podge also makes a “matte” finish product. It was awhile ago that I needed something with a less shiny finish and found it. You should be able to see the product line on the Plaid website. My only question is what happens when your styles change and you want to paint the wall. I am not sure any of the products would be easily removable.

    meghan,
Thank you, I’ll have to check into that matte product. I know what you are saying about it being more difficult to take off. I’m wondering if she picked that finish because it is a kids room and they could wipe off easy. Otherwise it would be really easy to just staple the maps to the wall. My issue is to seal out the smell of the moldy maps.
