Adirondack chair: Best price Home Depot compared to Pottery Barn

March 5, 2011

I know I just posted about this wooden Adirondack chair at Home Depot, but I couldn’t help but share this price comparison. I just got my Pottery Barn catalog in the mail and noticed a picture of an Adirondack chair. It is a beautiful chair in the photo, but they have it listed at a lot more money. Check out the price comparisons below. The only thing you need do do is prime and paint the chair from Home Depot and you have the same look for so much less. I also shared in the last post that my son and DIL have these chairs from Home Depot.  They painted them white and they look beautiful!

Home Depot $ 29.88

Pottery Barn $249.00

I am always amazed at how much these chairs are! We purchased a couple at our local Ace Hardware store a couple of years ago for 19.99 each. Same thing painted them and they look great! I am still on the look out for the foot rest plain to go along with them! Your chairs look beautiful.

Cost Plus World Market also has some good Adirondack chairs. They are not quite as cheap as the Home Depot chair, but they are pre-painted in a nice range of colors. I bought two last year, and they are very sturdy. A few cracks have developed in the finish, but overall they have held up very well and I’m very satisfied. Hopefully they will have them again this year.

Seriously considering these for our patio… painted in the Greek Island blue 🙂 I am curious to know if they have the foot rest too though…

Nathalie, I haven’t seen a foot rest, but they came out with a little table to match.

I just bought the red Adirondack love seat from Cost Plus World Market. Very nice actually. However, I am 6’6″ and about 340 lbs currently, so we’ll see how well it holds up. LOL! I had tried different metal and wood benches (of lesser and higher price) which all seemed weak in comparison. So far, this love seat seems quite sturdy. It does say, in the assembly instructions, that it requires another coating of stain at some point. And I would like to point out that the colors of these products appear much more brilliant on their website than in person. I had hoped for blue, but it just seemed more teal than the bright blue shown online.

Seriously, these are cheap chairs and the quality price rapport is outstanding

I acquired some for my garden
