Slice strawberries with an egg slicer

September 29, 2011

I had to try this idea from Real Simple Magazine.  Yes, the idea of slicing strawberries with an egg slicer.

Sometimes I see amazing ideas like this and wonder if they really work.

The only way to find out is to try it for myself. I decided to share my

finding just in case it might help someone else:

I like how it slices all the berries the same thickness, but I’m not sure it saved that much time.

I had to end up pressing the last bit of the berry against the wires to get the slices to release

and cut all the way through… I don’t know if that makes sense. I wish I would have taken a photo

to show you what I’m talking about…. Anyway, here is the glorious bowl of perfectly sliced berries

for your viewing pleasure :). They were berry nice indeed 🙂

I saw this on pinterest and now on your blog. I’m so glad you pointed out the little detail about it not slicing all the way through. I get it. I do love how they are all perfect though, my little ones love strawberries and somedays it seems I can’t slice them fast enough for their chubby little hands.

Lorena….I’m glad you get what I’m talking about!! I also saw it on Pinterest!
Hey pressing the strawberry in the egg slicer is something a little one can help do…..You’d probably have to press it all the way through depending on the age.
