Preparing for a Sock Monkey Baby Shower

January 22, 2012

Oh my goodness it’s baby shower time!!

I’ve enjoyed having baby showers and helping others with baby showers over the years.

This time it’s personal…..

A friend recently brought to my attention that the baby shower

I’m currently working on, will be the only shower I ever do for my own grandbabies….

I have one  child(son) and you traditionally only do showers for the first baby.

So if I’m missing in action and blogging less in the next month you know why:)

Did I tell you the theme for the shower? ” Sock Monkey’s”

The craft club is going to be making sock monkey’s.

I’ll be posting info on that soon.

I am so thankful that my family and friends ignored tradition! We have been blessed to have people want to throw us showers for each one of our babies…
Our neighbor gave us s sock monkey along with a sock monkey quilt she made for pur newest little girl- can’t wait to see how to make them! Have fun getting ready for the shower. 🙂

Oh, what fun. I love showers. My daughter recently had a shower for her second baby. It was given by her church friends who usually just do a diaper shower for second babies. Since her first was a girl, and this one is a boy, they did a traditional shower. It was lovely and I’m sure yours will be, too.

Enjoy your shower AND the grandchild to come! I don’t think too many people pay too much attention to those rules — it just kind of depends. Like with how close the pregnancies are together — 22 months, probably no shower for #2, but 8 years! definitely need a shower. And there’s the sex variation – if baby#2 is a different sex, or age issue (happens in adoption circles all the time — child #2 may be a 5 yr old or be multiple children even!).

Anyway, a sock monkey shower sounds really fun!

Thank you all for your sweet comments and advice about showers…there is hope that I may possibly have another shower one day…. depending on the situation. 🙂
