Turn your everyday items into a Beaded Treasure

April 22, 2012

People have been completing bead crafts for hundreds of years.

Some of the first bead crafts were related to clothing.

Our ancestors would apply thousands of tiny beads to the outer surfaces of

their clothes as a means to showcase

their social status. There are tons of bead crafts currently being displayed

in museums all over the world.

Contrary to popular belief, beaded crafts do not have to be large or elaborate.

In fact, there is a big possibility that you probably already have everything that you

need to sit down and create a few bead crafts at home. With bead crafts you can literally

turn your everyday items into treasures just by adding a couple of beads to their surfaces.

Look how Kristina embelished a simple Target scarf by adding 3 strands of wooden beads.

Her inspiration was the Anthropologie example shown in the photo below….

It’s amazing how simple beads have the power to turn ordinary items into extraordinary items.

All you need to create beautiful pieces of art are some beads, a little bit of thread,

some wire, and of course some patience.

Hi Rene’- thanks so much for the sweet comment on my blog, and for thinking of me- it’s always so nice to hear from you! It always amazes me, the connections and friendships that are made through blogging- it really is the best part of it. 🙂 Love being able to take Anthropologie’s style and make it your own for a sliver of the cost!
