Actually, you want your stone to get darker. It’s like an iron skillet the more seasoned it is the better it cooks. The worse they look the better they cook.
The rack that comes with the stone is used in the oven so that the stone is not so hard to get in and out. You can also turn the rack upside down and place the hot stone on top for serving.

Thank you for your comment. I don’t know why I have trouble getting over the look of the dark stained stone.I know they are actually suppose to be better that way. Hmmm
The thing that doesn’t bother me about my cast iron skillet is it doesn’t look stained…it’s dark to begin with.
