How to make a velvet pumpkin with a real stem: tutorial

Do you love those beautiful velvet pumpkins with real stems, but

they don’t fit into your fall decorating budget. Perhaps, you just love crafting.

Good news!! You can make your own with some crafting effort.

If you follow us, you might remember the pretty pumpkins that were made

last year at our  craft club.

Below, is a simple reminder of the step by step process.

1. cut 1 round stretch velvet base

2. stitch all the way around.

3. stuff with poly-fil (add a few beans or rice to the bottom)

4.gather thread.

5. stitch it closed

6. hot glue on a real stem

    You have to get them from a live pumpkin,squash or gourd. Ask a local pumpkin patch or buy a few pumpkins that have cute stems.
    I got some from neighbor pumpkins after Halloween.

    Definitely on my fall list this year! Last year was a bit too busy, but I remember how beautiful they were. I’ll be putting “girl’s velvet dress” on my thrifting list. 🙂
