Oreo cookie pops

January 24, 2012

Oreo cookie pops are just like cake pops only easier and taste better.

I learned this recipe on Bakerella’s site. She’s the master of cake pops.

Ingredients: Package of Oreo cookies (Regular) filling included

1 package of Philadelphia cream cheese softened.

lollipop sticks (I used 6″ for this example)

melting candy coating chocolate.

sprinkles

First crush your package of oreos. I use a zip lock bag and a rolling pin. A food processor would be quicker 🙂

Stir in a softened package of cream cheese until it is all combined.

Roll mixture in small balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

Chill in frig until balls are firm.

Dip ends of sticks in melted chocolate and press into balls. Chill again. These steps might not be necessary….

I did them because I heard they help with the process.

Melt the chocolate on lowest temp and dip pops. I rubbed off the excess on the side of the pan.

Next I sprinkled these little guys all over the pops while the chocolate was still wet. I just put some in a bowl and spooned them over the pops while turning to coat..

They are so easy and fun to make…. best of all…you don’t have to bake a cake.

They are great to make for little favors….. I’m going to make them for the shower.

It varies depending on the size of the ball. Approx. 50 pops
